It is only July, the Longmynd Hike in October is full, Neil is fussing about the The Tinsel Trail in December and Jayne is sending me details about the SSC next February. I have got a 70th birthday in Venice in September - but entries for that are already closed.
Telford Tinsel Trail
The Tinsel trail returns to Coalport with Chris Dawes's fascinating route around greenfields, iron works and over the Wrekin. Neil is taking entries and all the details are on the LDWA website. Download an entry form here in docx or pdf format.

South Shropshire Circular 2018
For the 36th SSC, we pay a return visit to Norbury to enjoy the facilities of its splendid new village hall. The hill country around Norbury is some of the most attractive within the AONB, with long stretches offering extensive views from Rights of Way largely unhindered by gates and stiles. Add to this the fact that the route is on one OS Explorer map and the country is made for some fine, fast walking or running. But it should not be underestimated in winter conditions.
You can view more information here.
Entries will be online through SIentries and will open in October.
I know you all hate on-line surveys, I certainly do , but please could all members have a look at this one. We have over 200 members, many of you I have never met or just punched your tally at a checkpoint or fed you some lovely homemade soup. We would like to know a little more about you and what you think of us.
This year's AGM will now be held on SATURDAY March 18th at the Stiperstones Inn, starting at 10.00am to be followed by a 10 mile group walk over Pontesford Hill. For attendance or apologies reply here or email firstname.lastname@example.org
At our meeting tonight it was decided that we would not have enough experienced members available in July to hold what has become a regular event.
We are sorry for anyone who has already made arrangements around taking part.
Windy but mild, great hats, great bran tube, great route - thanks to all, marshals, refreshers and entrants. A merry Christmas and here are the results. Hopefully some pics in the Shropshire Star later this week. Times assume an 8.00am start, adjust if you set off later.

Getting near to Christmas, Stretton time trial on Sunday, Cardington Cracker next week but save your energy for the Pulverbatch Plum Pudding Plod. You will enjoy the kids bouncing on your stomach at 6.00 in the morning much better after a nice plod over the Longmynd.

A tough route from Norbury, plenty of great views says Neil, which reads plenty of climbs!
