From The Priory Hall The Bullring Much Wenlock Shropshire TF13 6HS The event starts at the grave of William Penny Brookes the father of the modern Olympic movement in the picturesque small town of Much Wenlock, and is part of the annual Wenlock Olympian Games. The route follows the Shropshire Way to the Church at Holdgate where the ladies of the parish serve an array of amazing cakes. It then climbs Abdon Burf before heading to Craven Arms before tackling a few more Shropshire hills on the return route to Much Wenlock
This event is open to walkers and runners. It is a demanding event requiring navigation skills. Entrants should have completed at least 2 walks of 25ml or more in the previous 12 months.

The event will have three starts, 8.00am for walkers and 10.00am or 12.00 for runners and must be completed within 24 hours of the walker's start.
Entry qualifications and equipment requirements
To enter this demanding event you should have completed at least two 25 mile events within the last 12 months.
The WOW event will be properly supported with four full feeding stations and additional watering points as conditions dictate but entrants must recognise that there will be up to 12 miles between each partial or full refreshment point. There will be a need for everyone to carry both ‘emergency’ food and water which can be replenished at the shops in Craven Arms (42k).
You will be given a route data sheet with grid references and brief instructions to be used in conjunction with your MAP and you must carry at least
OS Explorer sheets 217 at 1:25 000 or electronic equivalent.
A compass, whistle and torch are obvious essentials and your First Aid pack should recognise the hazards of High Summer in terms of sun screen and stinging things, insectivorous or otherwise.
Clothing and footwear is down to personal preferences, based on prior seasonal experience but you WILL NOT be allowed to start or continue if marshals believe you to be inadequately equipped. You MUST NOT rely on supporters or other entrants to carry equipment for you.
The WOW is open to walkers and runners who will be 18 or over on 30th June 2018
Everyone must have completed an official Entry Form.
There will be a limit of 200 .
There are no entries on the day and dogs cannot be brought on the WOW.
The entry fees cover food and drink at serviced checkpoints, rescue transport, memento and certificate.
Entries will be accepted from 19th January, with places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
